About the Speaker:
Professor Bob Cryan is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield。
In 1992, Professor Bob Klein was appointed head of the Centre for Communication Systems Research at Manchester Metropolitan University。
In 1994, he was appointed Chair Professor at Northumbria University in the United Kingdom, where he was responsible for the management of Electrical and electronic Engineering and Physics。
In 1996, Professor Bob Klein became Principal director of the School of Engineering at Northumbria University。In 1999, he joined the University of Wales as Principal in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and also served as Dean of the Engineering Faculty。
In 2002, he returned to Northumbria University as Vice-Chancellor of Northumbria University。In 2005, he became the Principal Vice-Chancellor of Northumbria University in the UK, where he was responsible for teaching and research。At the same time, as a researcher, he has published more than 200 papers or academic monographs with other researchers。
In 2007, Professor Bob Klein was appointed Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield in his hometown, becoming the youngest university chancellor in the UK and the youngest engineering professor in the UK at the time。
In 2013, he was awarded the Guardian's "Charismatic Leader" Award。In 2015, he was awarded the "Charismatic Leader" Award by The Daily Telegraph。In the same year, he was named one of the world's 50 cutting-edge engineers and became a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering。
From 2022, he is President of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET)。
